Introduction

Objectives

The dual training offered by the European School of Law aims not only to provide students with practical knowledge of the French and English legal systems, but also to offer them a comparative perspective.

Over the course of three years, students will study the fundamental subjects of Common law and French law. Students will be able to understand the differences and similarities between the French and English systems.

This dual legal expertise, fluency in two specialised languages and experience of student mobility are essential assets for working in the transnational and international field. The aim of this dual training is to produce experts with a thorough knowledge of French law and Common law, a strong capacity for analysis and an excellent grasp of legal techniques, as well as bilingual skills.

Specificities

The 1st and 2nd years of the programme are taught at the Institute of Law Jersey, while the 3rd year is taught at the University of Toulouse Capitole.

At the end of the three-year programme, students receive the Licence de Droit from the University of Toulouse Capitole and the Certificate of Higher Education from the University of London on validation of the first year in Jersey, followed by the LL.B English Law at the end of the third year. The Institute of Law Jersey awards an LLB from the University of London.
