Introduction

Objectives

The aim of this dual programme offered by the European School of Law is not only to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge of the French and Spanish legal systems, but also to offer them a comparative perspective. Modules are taught in French for French law and in Spanish for Spanish law.

The unique feature of this double degree is that it is structured in the first and second years (L1 and L2) at the University of Toulouse Capitole, at the end of which students will have mastered the basics of French law and benefited from an introduction to Spanish law. The programme continues for two years (L3 and M1) at either the Autonomous University of Barcelona or the University of Valencia. Each partner university offers a complementary programme leading to the award of Grado de derecho, in parallel with a Master 1 in Law.

This dual legal expertise, fluency in two specialised languages and experience of student mobility are essential assets for working in the European and international fields. The aim of this dual training programme is to produce professionals with a mastery of both French and Spanish law, with a strong capacity for analysis and an excellent grasp of legal techniques, as well as dual language skills.

At the end of the four-year programme, students obtain the Grado de derecho awarded by the Spanish partner university and the Master 1 for which they have been selected from the following three options:
- International and European Law
- Commercial Law
- Labour Law

Application

Conditions of admission / Conditions of successful application

Due to limited capacity, all programmes at the European School of Law are subject to selection. In addition to the qualities required for legal studies, this Franco-Spanish double degree requires a very strong motivation to study law in a multicultural context (compulsory period of study in a partner university) and a solid command of French and Spanish (at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
