Francis le Bihan has been awarded Honorary Doctor from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies

from October 22, 2014 to November 22, 2014

Francis le Bihan, professor in economics and management, has been awarded Honorary Doctor for his cooperation work with the ASE.

Francis le Bihan has been awarded Honorary Doctor by the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE) for his outstanding contribution to modernizing Romanian higher education in economic science and building up its international outreach.

The cooperation between Toulouse Capitole University (UT1) and the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE) started in 1990. Relying on a number of programmes developed thanks to the IAE (School of Management) expertise, UT1 has contributed to the growth of Romanian higher education in economic science. Its twofold support focused on the development of study grants and on both the modernization and creation of new training structures:

  • Over these 7 cooperation years, 337 Romanian university teachers came to Western European universities for 3-to-10 month periods, among whom 256 were welcomed at Toulouse IAE.
  • A European business administration Institute trained university executives in the cities of Brasov, Bucharest, Constanta, Cluj, Craïova, Iasi and Timisoara. Several thousand Romanian executives had the opportunity to attend new training programmes focusing on management, marketing, human resources, financial management or information systems.
Other programmes followed, and Toulouse Capitole University still continues welcoming several Romanian students each year.
