European case law on non-discrimination : an infringement to national religious liberties ?

When compared to the level of constitutional protection granted by Germany to the liberty of religion, ECJ case law on the protection against discrimination is rather disappointing, especially when it comes to the right to wear the Islamic veil. Moreover it is highly restrictive concerning the choice of the Churches social services personnel and related obligations.
