The Studies and Research laboratory in Economics, Policies and social systems, LEREPS, is a multidisciplinary team mostly focused on economics and sociology, but including also managers and geographers from the department of land use and planning. It was born in 1998, from the reunification of  the CEDO (Center of Studies in Organizations Dynamics), of the IERT (Toulouse Regional Institute of Economics), and of the CIRESS  (Interdisciplinary Research Center for Social Systems).

Research work focuses on two sets of issues:

  • On the one hand, the location of economic activities and its relation to territorial governance;
  • On the other hand, the organization of production activities in connection with innovation, technical changes and the evolution of financial structures.

The analysis of public policies and social systems is central to these two LEREPS research areas.

TWO  RESEARCH AREAS:

  • Area 1: Spaces and regions. Location of corporations and industrial dynamics. Territorial complexity and governance, areas for coordination.
  • Area 2:  Business Dynamics, organizational changes, production and dissemination of knowledge. Business Governance,  financialization and new regulations.
