The Home Rule and Irish self-governance issues which prevailed between 1870 and 1914 will be part of the study program of the French agregation competitive examination in the next two years.

Speakers and lecturers specialized in history, Ireland matters and Home Rule will give an insight into the geo-political, intellectual and cultural challenges of the issues which have caused major divide among British MPs in the late 19th century.

This workshop will also be of great interest to the historians, legal experts and students by highlighting the historical approach of the controversy which led to the creation of the border between Northern and Southern Ireland and consequently to a period of Turmoil between 1968 and 1988 and to the current major deadlock in the Brexit negotiations.

We intend to also focus on human rights and on the building of democracy in order to be of interest to the CAS research laboratory scientists(EA801) and to the EIRE Group of Scientific Interest.

The lectures will be available both on the internet and will also be published.
