Erasmus+ grants
Doctoral mobility can be funded with different grants. Erasmus+ grants are managed by the International Office for research stays in Europe, depending on the length of the stay:
- Long-term Erasmus + grants (2 months or more)
- Long-term Erasmus+ grants (additional green and inclusion packages)
- Short-term Erasmus+ grants (5 to 30 days)
- Short-term Erasmus+ grant (additional green and inclusion packages)
Research residency grants
Grants for research stays abroad are awarded by the Research Support Service and are intended to finance research stays required by doctoral students as part of their theses (excluding conferences and seminars abroad). The average length of stay can vary between 4 and 16 weeks, and for stays in the European Union, the minimum duration is 2 months (60 days). Applications must be sent by e-mail to the DAR at recherche@ut-capitole.fr no later than Thursday 8 February 2024.
Embassy scholarships and specific programmes
The French embassies and certain structures abroad offer various possibilities for funding the mobility of doctoral students. The Hubert Curien Partnerships (PHC), in particular, are bilateral programmes to support the mobility of researchers and are a key instrument of French scientific cooperation with its partners. This specific funding is open to doctoral students from all disciplines.
Co-supervision of doctoral theses
Co-supervision of doctoral theses is an agreement that encourages the mobility of doctoral students and helps to develop scientific cooperation between French and foreign research teams. Doctoral students must carry out their work in the two cotutelle countries in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in an agreement. The two universities recognize the validity of the joint supervision and of the diploma awarded.
