Jean Tirole, Professor of economics at the Toulouse School of Economics, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2014. Professor Tirole’s research covers industrial organization, regulation, the theory of organizations, the game theory, finance, macroeconomics and psychology-based economics. He is the laureate of many international distinctions, among which the CNRS Gold Medal in 2017.

Toulouse Capitole University, with and thanks to TSE, is listed 1st among French universities and 22nd internationally in Top 50 of the Shangaï ranking in «Social sciences-economics». It is also the only French institution together with the ESL and IRDEIC. boasting the « Jean-Monnet Centre of Excellence » label since 2017.

Selected by the European Union, ENGAGE.EU is an alliance of 7 universities united by common European values. Together with its allies, UT Capitole is committed to educating and inspiring future European citizens. The structural cooperation between researchers, learners and other actors of the consortium will address major societal challenges.

TSE-Partnership links economic research and economic decision-making issues. Partnerships with companies and institutions confront scientific models and intuitions with data from economic actors through three thematic centres: digital, sustainable finance and energy & climate. The SIRIUS Chair is the first research chair dedicated to law and management in the field of space.

UT Capitole has been a pioneer in creating a School of Management and Administrative studies which became TSM in 2018 and in setting-up the first School of Economics in 2011. It has also been the first European university to offer 20 international double degrees. Thirty open and distance learning programs and 20 work-linked training schemes are also part of this outstanding offer.

Two hundred partner universities worldwide and over 100 companies hosting our trainees and hiring our young graduates illustrate the strength of this networking policy. More than 2000 continuing education interns and approximately 30 yearly validations of learning from experience are part of our achievements, not to forget 20 000 followers on the Alumni network.

UT Capitole offers career counselling to its students throughout their studies in order to facilitate their professional insertion: 97% professional Bachelor’s degree and 91% Master’s degree graduates find a job. 40% PhD students are granted public or private funding.

UT Capitole privileges a constant move to enhanced service quality as evidenced by TSM, which was awarded the « Teaching and Research » Qualicert Service Certification in June 2005. At the international level, TSM complies with the highest EFMD accreditation standards with today 3 EPAS labelled training courses.
