Remedies and Sanctions in National and European Labour Law
from July 10, 2023 to July 13, 2023
Toulouse Capitole University welcomed the Universities of Belgrade (Serbia), Udine (Italy), and Rijeka (Croatia) for a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on labour law in July 2023.
From July 10th to 13th 2023, Toulouse Capitole University welcomed Master's students as well as researchers and faculty from the Universities of Belgrade, Udine, Rijeka and Toulouse Capitole for a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP).
The course enabled participants to compare their national legal systems in terms of labour law across several themes: discrimination and equal treatment, health and safety, and remedies and sanctions in the event of dismissal. At the end of the week, the participants presented comparative projects, drawn up together with their colleagues from the different partner universities.
The face-to-face element of the course was preceded by a virtual module to familiarise students with the different national legal systems of each partner university.
The course was complemented by a cultural programme organised by the International Office, including a guided tour of the city of Toulouse, a cultural outing to Albi, and other social events.
If you are an instructor at UT Capitole and are interested in developing a Blended Intensive Programme, please contact the International Office at internationalisation@ut-capitole.fr.

"While these questions may seem technical and complex, approaching them through comparative tools enables a better understanding of the evolution of national systems and the various aspects in need of reform" said Frédéric Guiomard, one of the BIP's Scientific Coordinators and Professor of Social Law at Toulouse Capitole University. "For me, the BIP format is essential as it allows Master's students to have an international experience."
