This event promotes and valorizes researchers and their research work to the general public.
Last year, twenty Toulouse Capitole University researchers and PhD students took part. The very large audience (approximately 3000 visitors) took a deep interest in their presentations.
 

• Speed-searching: just like at a speed-dating evening (changing partners every 10 min.), members of the audience sit at your desk for a “tête-à-tête”. As a contribution to this original approach, do bring some object that is particularly symbolical or representative of your research work. Several speed-searching sessions will be held at a fixed time. Your overall participation will last about 1 hour.

• The Researchers’ Corner: you will be provided with your own area (an approximate 9m² - a 200*80 cm table, chairs, exhibition panels) to share any kind of experimental activities likely to arouse visitors’ interest. Non-stop participation from 5pm to midnight (your team should include a minimum of 2 people so as to take turns and ensure continuous participation).

• Kids’ Research City: at the kids ‘area, your workshop will help children to enjoy experimenting your approach and understanding the way you work. Your area (an approximate 9m² - a 200*80 cm table, chairs, and exhibition panels) will be dedicated to continuous animation from 5pm to midnight (your team should include a minimum of 2 people so as to take turns and ensure continuous participation). You may associate with a mediator from a scientific or industrial cultural organization whose contact you will be given.

• Top Chrono for my rhesis (only for PhD students): you will be given the opportunity to valorize and publicize your research work in a very short 5-minute presentation. An opportunity to exchange with the public and help them understand what PhD research work is like. Your presentation may focus on your ongoing work, an experiment or your thesis topic. It will be followed by a dialogue with the public.
