A lecture on the legal accountability of judges and the pre-constitutional developments of judicial independence by Ulrike Müssig, law history professor at the University of Passau.

This talk intends to introduce the pre-constitutional roots of the independence of the judiciary, taking a historical and comparative approach. The concept of the established judge will be presented using French, English and German examples..
