Joint Certificate in Global Sustainable Management (GSM)
New Master's Track in Sustainability at UT Capitole
Beginning in autumn 2026, UT Capitole will offer students the opportunity to specialize in sustainability through the ENGAGE.EU Joint Programme in Global Sustainability Management (GSM).
Developed in close collaboration with the nine partner universities of the ENGAGE.EU alliance, this one-year programme (60 ECTS) integrates sustainability, leadership, and international collaboration. It is available as a complement to the M2 AES Gouvernance des entreprises profiles.
The GSM track takes place during the 3rd and 4th semesters of the master’s degree:

- One semester at UT Capitole
- One semester at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria)
Prerequisites:
- You must be a student of M1 AES Gouvernance des entreprises to enroll in this programme.
- You must have a minimum B2–C1 level in English, as demonstrated by an ELAO test.

The GSM courses are seamlessly integrated with your master's programme, and you graduate with a master's degree from UT Capitole and a joint certificate from ENGAGE.EU.
You take GSM electives to deepen your knowledge on sustainability issues.
The GSM electives list will be shared with you when you have been accepted to the programme.
You write your master's supervised project or you do an internship in the final semester of the programme.
You take 32 ECTS in total in this semester.
3rd semester: GSM Core Courses on exchange
- You go on exchange to WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria)
- Semester dates: September-December 2026
- You take 28 ECTS in total.
- You are with GSM students from UT Capitole and our partner schools.
- All GSM students take the GSM core courses together.
- All the GSM core courses are preapproved as part of your degree.
- Current Trends in Global Sustainability (4 ECTS)
- Introduction and orientation to the GSM topics and for the student cohort
- Includes guest speakers from multiple stakeholders (E.g. companies, NGOs, IGO, Government, SMES), panels and discussions, visits and challenges
- The Changing Global Sustainability Context (6 ECTS)
- Interconnectedness of the world and sustainability issues
- Complex systems and understanding complexity
- Regional differences and polycontextual approach
- Global governance mechanisms and institutions such as UN Global Compact, SDGs, UN Human Rights Council, etc.
- Tackling Key Global Sustainability Challenges (6 ECTS)
- Social and environmental impact assessment
- Sustainability integration and innovation
- Stakeholder and value chain engagement
- Leadership, culture, and HR for sustainability
- Partnerships and future-proofing strategies
- Sustainability Transformation Lab (12 ECTS)
- Experiential learning, i.e. students developing, testing and refining social and sustainable business ideas and addressing pivotal societal challenges
- Develop, test and refine social and sustainable business ideas addressing pivotal societal challenges, together with academic and corporate partners.
4th semester: GSM Electives and Master's Supervised Project or Internship at UT Capitole
