A look back at the ENGAGE.EU Data Management Days!
from March 6, 2024 to March 8, 2024
ENGAGE.EU Data Management Days: an opportunity to exchange best practice and create a European network on a topical issue.
From 6 to 8 March 2024, Toulouse Capitole University was delighted to welcome researchers, doctoral students and support staff from partner universities in the ENGAGE.EU alliance. These Data Management Days are a continuation of the initiatives already undertaken by our European university on this theme: opening of courses on research data management, workshops with library staff, etc.
The unique feature of the event organised in Toulouse was the variety of profiles welcomed, enabling us to broaden discussions, identify common issues more precisely and work together on the best way to support researchers in this area.
A round table open to all, entitled "Why engage in open science practices?", moderated by Christine Okret-Manville, Director of Libraries at Paris Dauphine-PSL, brought together the following speakers:
This round table explored the more theoretical issues involved in Open Science, and was followed by a half-day discussion on the opening up of Theses and Wikipedia and its link with Open Science.

A round table open to all, entitled "Why engage in open science practices?", moderated by Christine Okret-Manville, Director of Libraries at Paris Dauphine-PSL, brought together the following speakers:
- Julien Bétaille, lecturer at Toulouse Capitole University, IEJUC,
- Valérie Orozco, statistics/econometrics engineer at INRAE since 2004 and member of the TSE Industrial Organisation group,
- Klaas Stijsma, researcher at Tilburg, author of the book Never Waste a Good Crisis. Lessons Learned from Data Fraud and Questionable Research Practices
This round table explored the more theoretical issues involved in Open Science, and was followed by a half-day discussion on the opening up of Theses and Wikipedia and its link with Open Science.
This event also marks an important step towards the construction of an ENGAGE.EU network dedicated to Open Science and research data management.
