Marcílio Franca is Professor of Public Law at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB, Brazil).
Marcílio Franca is Professor of Public Law at the Fédéral University of Paraíba (UFPB, Brazil) and Prosecutor in the Prosecution Office at the Audit Court of Paraíba (MPC/PB), where he chairs the Cultural Heritage Task Force and the Pedro Américo Platform.
A specialist in Art Law and International Arbitration, he serves as an arbitrator for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA, Rotterdam), and the Latin American Center for Arbitration and Mediation (LatCAm).
Former arbitrator in the Mercosur Tribunal.
Professor Franca is a permanent member of the UNIDROIT Working Group on Orphan Cultural Objects and the National Rapporteur for Brazil in the field of art law at the International Academy of Comparative Law (IACL, The Hague).
His extensive international experience includes roles as a Legal Advisor to the United Nations Mission in Timor-Leste (UNOTIL) and the World Bank, as well as visiting professorships at the Universities of Turin, Pisa, and Ghent. A Calouste Gulbenkian Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI), he is an active member of the International Law Association (ILA), TIAMSA, and several other prestigious academic societies.
He is also an Honorary Member of the Institute of Brazilian Lawyers (IAB).
