Artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing about profound changes, evident in many fields such as the economy, healthcare, finance, the military sector, and so on. The vast array of opportunities it offers is accompanied by a multitude of risks that we are still struggling to predict or even foresee. Regulating, auditing and improving AI systems presents an unprecedented scientific challenge. To meet this challenge, collaboration between specialists from a wide range of disciplines is essential: computer scientists, mathematicians, lawyers, philosophers, economists, and others.
