Activities
Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) is a public institution of a scientific, cultural, and professional nature, established as a “grand établissement” under Article L.717-1 of the French Education Code. TSE is a component institution of the experimental public institution Université Toulouse Capitole.
It offers undergraduate and master’s programs and, under the responsibility of Université Toulouse Capitole, provides doctoral training in economics. TSE’s educational mission is to train highly qualified economists in analytical and quantitative economics, with an openness to the humanities and social sciences, enabling them to address complex societal issues with empirically grounded and relevant solutions. Its international faculty comprises renowned scholars with both national and global recognition. They maintain long-term partnerships with leading French and international companies, ensuring that students benefit from teaching that meets the highest international standards — research-driven and closely connected to the needs of the economic world.
The curriculum emphasizes the study of core areas in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, alongside numerous applied fields such as natural resource economics, development and public policy, market economics, competition law and economics, and financial markets. These are complemented by courses offering broader perspectives, particularly in the humanities and social sciences (law, psychology, history, political science, ecology, and more).

Academic Programs
The academic structure at TSE is organized as follows:
-
An integrated preparatory cycle corresponding to the first and second years of the Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
-
The “School” cycle (third year of the Bachelor’s degree, and first and second years of the Master’s program), accessible through a selective admission process, leading to both professional and research pathways. The TSE program also offers opportunities for dual expertise, particularly in economics and law.
-
A doctoral track, open to students from the second year of the Master’s program.
