Toulouse Capitole University recognised for its commitment to energy transition

on the January 29, 2026

On 29 January 2026, Toulouse Capitole University was honoured at the awards ceremony for the 2024-2025 edition of the CUBE État competition, which recognises public buildings that have achieved the best energy savings.

At a ceremony held in Paris on Thursday, 29 January 2026, our university was honoured with:

  • An award for the best ‘feedback’ for the participation of two of these sites: the Arsenal University Library and the Toulouse School of Economics building.
  • An award for achieving energy saving targets, with 14.6% savings achieved for the Arsenal University Library building (ranked in the 10-15% bracket).
It's not just about numbers, but about a collective victory: a match played on the field, over time, in the service of more sober and efficient management of our buildings. And this is just the beginning! The goal is to implement a comprehensive approach, with a multi-site perspective, and to firmly establish good habits.

The CUBE État competition, a national lever for energy efficiency

The CUBE État competition (Efficient Building Practices Competition) is run by the French government's property department, the General Commission for Sustainable Development and Cerema, with support from the Interministerial Directorate for Public Transformation. This national initiative pits government buildings against each other with a clear objective: to achieve maximum energy savings without undertaking major works, relying mainly on technical optimisation and changes in usage.
