on the January 6, 2026

On Tuesday 6 January, Toulouse Capitole University had the honour of welcoming Her Excellency Marine de Carné-Trécesson, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), for a discussion with students.

This meeting brought together students from the Master’s Degree in Transport Law, the Master’s Degree in International and European Law (DIDE), as well as programmes from the European School of Law Toulouse - UT Capitole. The exchange provided students with valuable insight into diplomatic careers, France’s international action, and contemporary challenges in maritime governance and international transport law.
This event was organised as part of an initiative launched by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Annual Conference of Ambassadors, aiming to strengthen the link between diplomacy and society (“diplomatie-nation”) and to anchor France’s international action more firmly within its regions. The initiative was relayed in the Occitanie region by the Prefect of the Occitanie Region, Prefect of Haute-Garonne.

Toulouse Capitole University is proud to contribute to this national initiative by fostering dialogue between diplomats and students, and by promoting openness to international careers and global public action.
