Welcome to the Anciennes Facultés site! This historic building, situated in the heart of Toulouse, is much more than just a place of learning: it is a space where heritage, knowledge and student life come together.

Here, you will find modern lecture theatres, whilst enjoying the charm of a building steeped in history. The majestic and inspiring Cujas lecture theatre hosts your lectures, whilst the Maurice Hauriou room is a special place for discussion.

Between classes, enjoy the Jardin des Anciennes Facultés, a green oasis right in the city centre. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing break, a spot of reading or a chance to socialise with fellow students.

A treasure trove of history and knowledge

For centuries, the Anciennes Facultés housed the Faculty of Law, the historic heart of higher education in Toulouse, founded in 1229. Having weathered the upheavals of the Revolution and undergone a major refurbishment in 1896, this iconic building, situated near Place du Capitole, remains a vibrant centre dedicated to study and research.

The Anciennes Facultés site is now home to the Toulouse School of Management (TSM), member of the Toulouse Capitole University. However, it offers all the university’s students and staff a garden where they can relax, as well as a library with rich and varied collections. The Garrigou Library offers study spaces tailored to your needs. It thus continues the building’s original purpose: that of a place dedicated to the transmission of knowledge and intellectual development.

Even today, the Anciennes Facultés remain a vibrant hub of student life, hosting cultural events, lectures and gatherings. You will spend part of your university life here, in a setting that blends tradition and modernity.
