International Students Registration fees - Faculty of Computer Science
Please find below the individual situations and exemption criteria that exempt you from paying differentiated fees when enrolling or re-enrolling at the Faculty of Computer Science.
Non-EU students who are not subject to differentiated fees or exempted by the institution under the conditions defined below are required to pay the registration fees applicable to national students.
The exemption granted is valid for the entire duration of the course and is limited to:
- four years for the first cycle (Bachelor's degree)
- three years for the second cycle (Master's degree)
By way of derogation, students who have been granted an extension to their studies by agreement with the institution are exempt from differentiated fees for the entire duration of their educational contract (e.g. elite athletes).Students not subject to the legal framework
You will not have to pay the differentiated fees:
depending on your nationality
- if you are a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation;
- if you are a national of a country that has signed an international agreement with France that says you have to pay the same registration fees as French nationals or that you don't need a residence permit in France.
depending on your status
- if you hold a residence permit marked ‘Residence permit for family members of a citizen of the EU/EEA/Switzerland’;
- if you have refugee status or subsidiary protection or if you are a person whose father, mother or legal guardian has this status or protection;
- if you hold a residence card issued under the conditions set out in Chapter IV of Title I of Book III of the Code on the Entry and Stay of Foreigners and the Right of Asylum, or if you hold a similar document issued under an international agreement applicable to the French Republic, if you are a minor aged 15 or over and accompanied by a parent who is a foreign nationalentry and residence of foreigners and the right of asylum, or if you hold a similar document issued under an international agreement applicable to the French Republic if you are a minor under the age of eighteen and a direct descendant or dependent of the beneficiary of one of these cards.
depending on the course you are taking
- if you are a student enrolled in a PhD programme or preparing for a HDR (habilitation à diriger des recherches, or qualification to supervise research);
- if you are enrolled in a preparatory class for the grandes écoles at a public secondary school and are enrolled in a public scientific, cultural or professional institution.
depending on your situation in 2018/2019
- if you were enrolled in 2018-2019 or earlier at a university, a school under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) or a French Language Centre (FLE).
Students exempt under the institution's policy
You will not be required to pay the differentiated fees:
depending on your nationality
- if you are a national of one of the low-income countries listed below:

depending on your status
- if you are a recipient of a French government scholarship or an embassy scholarship
depending on the programme you are enrolled in
- if you are coming to study under an international inter-institutional agreement signed between UT Capitole and a foreign partner;
- if you are a student under a European or international exchange agreement (ERASMUS or bilateral agreement)
- if you are enrolled in an apprenticeship programme
- if you are enrolled in one of our distance learning programmes
students taking a gap year
Students who enrol for a gap year are not required to pay the differentiated fees for that year. They pay the same registration fees as national students. This is not an exemption granted until the end of the course but a temporary exemption. Upon returning from their gap year, non-EU students are once again subject to differentiated fees.
Students exempted under the Faculty of Computer Science's admission policy
You will not be required to pay the differentiated fees:
if you are admitted to one of the programmes offered by the Faculty of Computer Science:
- Bachelor's degree (all specialisations, all tracks)
- Master's degree (all specialisations, all tracks)
