According to this model, the EDT-R is organised into thematic departments and ad hoc research groups, which transcend this departmental division by focusing on ambitious research topics and participating in high-level national, European or international calls for proposals.

In 2026, the EDT-R comprises 7 departments and 5 temporary research groups:

At its meeting on 28 January 2026, the Research Unit Council established five Temporary Research Groups (GMR):

A chair is a programme of excellence in teaching and research, dedicated to a strategic theme and led by an expert academic. It combines scientific output, teaching activities and partnerships in order to address contemporary challenges and enhance the institution’s academic and institutional standing.

Activities

Research topics

The Toulouse School of Law – Research is a research unit bringing together all the legal research resources within the EPE, as well as certain researchers in political science and information and communication studies. With a staff of 160 permanent lecturers and researchers, it is one of the most prominent research units in this field, both nationally and across Europe. Established in 2025, with a commitment to constant self-reflection and the continuous improvement of already remarkable results, the EDT-R strives for scientific excellence by effectively combining in-depth specialised research across disciplinary areas with the richness of cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary approaches.
