Thomas Meyer - Ontologies: What are they good for?

This talk is a high-level discussion on ontologies and their applications in Computer Science. In particular, I will discuss the motivation for representing ontologies formally in logic-based representation languages such as description logics. If time permits I will also discuss the application of ontologies to the Semantic Web.
