Retour sur - Seminar Research Design and Empirical Methods in Law

le 8 juin 2022

As part of its Franco-Irish academic cooperation, the European School of  Law Toulouse is honoured to welcome Professeur Niall Moran, associate Professor at Dublin City University, for a seminar on Research Design and Empirical Methods in Law.

In recent years, empirical methods have gained renewed interest in legal studies. Empirical methods are a set of methods in the social sciences, both quantitative and qualitative, which provide a framework for the systematic collection of data, their analysis and interpretation in order to provide knowledge about the law. However, legal researchers cannot do without a global reflection on their methods in the treatment of these data. Thus, Niall Moran proposes to share the fruits of his research and to open the discussion on Legal Empirical Studies in a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective.
