Abstract:
Abstract argumentation is an elegant formalism for representing conflicting pieces of information (called arguments), equipped with reasoning mechanism allowing to select acceptable arguments. Some of its natural applications are non-monotonic reasoning and strategic debates modeling (e.g. automated negotiation). In this talk, I will describe some of my work on three particular questions related to abstract argumentation: How can we compute efficiently the acceptability of arguments in spite of the high complexity of these problems? How can we incorporate uncertainty in abstract argumentation? How can we influence the issue of an argumentation process in order to make some desirable arguments accepted?
